A visit to Jehangir's Tomb
There are many historical places in Pakistan. These places give us a glimpse in to the past and tell us different stages of evolution of you culture. We must visit these historical places because .
"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."
Last Sunday, we decided to go on a picnic. We wished to visit some historical places because they are our cultural heritage. So, we chose Jahangir's tomb as our picnic point.

We reached the tomb in the morning at 10a.m. The weather was very pleasant. The splendid building of the tomb was very impressive. There was greenery all around a cool breeze was blowing. Birds was chirping in the tree. There were vast lawns, open spaces and flowers of different colours. "Nature is just enough; but men and women must comprehend and accept her suggestions."
We visited the huge mausoleum and its tarrace . In the each corner, a minaret soared up in the sky . We went up to one of the towers and from there we could see the beautiful building of Badshahi Masjid. The city of Lahore was before our eyes. Then we took off our shoes and walked into the mausoleum itself. Jehangir, the great Mughal Emperor of India, was lying buried all alone in the central room. Its inner scene was very bewitching and captivating . It was built of coloured bricks and marble with coloured designs. A short life history of the great Mughal Emperor was carved on the walls. It proved more a study tour than a visit for us. It added to our knowledge a great. We wonderfully realized
"Anybody can make history, only a great man can write it." We came out of the tomb with a heavy heart . The grave of this re-knowned king showed to us that everybody had to leave this world. The Jehangir's tomb is the best place for a family picnic. There, we enjoyed ourselves very much. Everyone was taking interest in the remarkable structure of the building, matchless beauty of the lawns and historical significance of the tomb.
"In all things of nature, there is something of the marvellous." At about 2 O'clock, we sat under a shady tree . My mother spread the table cloth on the ground and put the things on it . Mother had prepared many tasty dishes. We took our meal and had some rest.
Then, we played cricket in a grassy park. It was a source of great amusement. My elder brother told some interesting stories amusement.
We sang together some national and film songs. I think it was a well-spent day , and every one of us will remember it as the most memorable day of his life. In the evening, we packed our belongings and made our way home . Our hearts were filled with pleasure . It was a picnic full of enjoyment and recreation.
It was the happiest day of my life. The visits to historical buildings or places are of a great importance, both from academic and general knowledge point of view. It added to our Knowledge about, the great men of the past and their great deeds . The visits to such historical buildings and places inspire us to do something great for our nation and country like our grate man of the past.
